Elisha was one of the greatest prophets that ever lived. He served Elijah for over ten years and requested a double portion of his spirit over his life. Elijah, told him that he would receive it, if he saw him being taken up to heaven (2Ki.2), and sure enough Elisha stayed with Elijah to the last moment and received his reward.

The place of women in the family, in society, and in the Church has been the subject of much attention. It is important for us to have a clear Biblical footing in an area where positions vary to an extreme degree. Three major stances are examined here.

The Bible describes the times of high priest Eli in Israel as spiritually dark days when the Word from the Lord was rare and there were not many visions (1Sam.3:1). If God’s people continue to be disobedient and unwilling to listen to His Word, the Lord would stop communicating with them. This could be described as the most calamitous situation for any generation. If God chooses not to speak to His people, what can mankind do?
